Venue Information
The Markwell Studio is situated in the centre of the town of Bishop's Stortford in the pretty Castle Gardens. The Studio is ideal for small functions and has Wi-Fi. There is a projector and screen available for business use at an additional cost (however this equipment is not recommended for parties).
The Studio is about a 10 minute walk from Bishop's Stortford train station and interchange. Please find further information, directions and a map in the document below.
Please note once a month bookings are only permitted on Tuesdays and Fridays from 09:00-17:00 hours.

Please note the following:-
BOUNCY CASTLES ARE NOT PERMITTED AT THIS CENTRE DUE TO THE LOW CEILING HEIGHT.
The Markwell Studio hall is a lovely bright hall that can hold up to the maximum of 48 people seated, 60 standing (this capacity is for guidance only and does not take into account any space taken up by tables, or your entertainer). There is a small kitchen area to the side of the hall from which you can serve refreshments. There is a kettle, teapot, mugs, small plates, glasses and serving platters however please note there is a small microwave but no oven
Dog training sessions are not permitted in this venue. Only Guide Dogs permitted in the venue.
16th, 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th or 21st birthday parties are NOT permitted at this venue.
Parties ages 12+ are required to leave a £300 cash damage deposit.
The use of helium balloons, paper lanterns and naked flamed candles are not permitted at this venue.
PROBLEM WITH KEY OUT OF OFFICE HOURS
In the unlikely event that there is a problem with the key to the Markwell Studio, please contact the Tourist Information Centre, in the Town Centre, they have spare keys and are open on Saturdays between 10:00-16:00hrs, contact telephone number 01279 715001.
