The Council manages over 600 allotment plots on 10 sites

The allotment rental year runs from January - December.
Plots of 2.5 rods (7m x 7m) and 5 square rods (10m x 12m) are available for rent.

Prices are as follows:

Fees for 2022 are per rod and as follows:

Residents - £6.00
Senior Citizens & Personal Independent Payment (PIP) Recipients - £3.00 (1st 10 rods only)
Non–Residents - £12.00 (including Senior Citizens)
New Tenant Administration Set Up Fee - £28.50
There is a Key Charge of £8.00 at some sites

Residents - £6.25
Senior Citizens & Personal Independent Payment (PIP) Recipients - £3.10 (1st 10 rods only)
Non–Residents - £12.50 (including Senior Citizens)
New Tenant Administration Set Up Fee - £30.00
There is a Key Charge of £8.00 at some sites

Fees can be paid by cash, cheque (made payable to BSTC) or by internet and phone banking (details on request). We regret we are unable to accept debit / credit cards.

Thorley Street is the new site due to open in 2024 

Please be aware that there are waiting lists at sites but you can download the Application form for an Allotment and view the Tenancy Agreement which will be completed by the administrator on allocation of a plot. .

We have recently introduced the possibility to keep bees and hens subject to appropriate rules.

Bishop's Stortford Garden and Allotment Association BSAGA

Many of our allotment holders are members of the Bishop's Stortford Allotments And Gardens Assiociation which offers useful advice and fellowship. Please see their Facebook page.
Membership costs just £3.00 per year & the allotment shop can be found at Ward Crescent Allotment site CM23 3GJ on a Sunday morning January, October & November 10.00am to 11.00am

The Best Kept Plot Competition 2022

Taking photos of the 2 best kept plots on each will be done by the site agents during June and July.
The best on site and the best kept plot overall will be chosen by the Mayor in August.

The site winners will received the 1st 5 rods of their holdings free of charge for 2023,
and the overall winner also received a box of chocolates or a bottle of wine. In
addition the BSAGA gave a year's Free membership to their Association to the overall site
winner..
