One of the minibuses

Bishop's Stortford Town Council manages a fleet of minibuses on behalf of Bishop's Stortford Minibus Trust providing affordable community transport services. These are available for self-drive hire and also for regular services.

Self-drive Hire

The minibuses are available for hire by local community organisations and groups who operate on a not for profit basis in the Stort Valley for regular journeys or day trips and outings. Groups will need to provide their own driver who will need to hold a driving licence with D1 entitlement.  The buses seat between 13 and 16 people including driver eat.   There is presently both manual and automatic buses that can accommodate wheelchairs and have electric tail lifts.

Regular Services

The Minibus Trust offers a number of regular services around Bishop's Stortford and the surrounding area.

Stortford Shuttle (Monday- Friday 7:50-15:00 hrs)

The Stortford Shuttle operates one circular route per hour covering Thorley, Havers, Parsonage, Bishop's Gate, the Herts and Essex Hospital and the town centre (see link below).  Hop on and Hop off at any point along the route.  The bus provides a service on routes not covered by the commercial bus companies and operates weekdays.  Get around town with a £4.00 all day ticket, or use your bus pass.  Older and disabled persons bus passes and SuperSaver Cards are also accepted.  Operating hours 07:50 - 15:00 hours. All welcome!

Hadham Hopper

The Hadham Hopper/Route 4  is a free service and runs every Thursday from Much Hadham and Perry Green to and from Bishop's Stortford.

Saturday Shopper Hopper - starting Saturday 7th April 2018  (Saturdays 9-1pm)

The Stortford Shuttle is launching an exciting new service on Saturday mornings, beginning on Saturday 7th April. The Shuttle will base its service around taking people to and from the Bishop’s Park Tesco store, a route not covered by the week day service. The first run will gather people from the Parsonage area and take them to Tescos. The second run will gather people from the Town Centre and Thorley and take them to Tescos. The third run will take the Parsonage passengers home, the fourth run will take the Town Centre and Thorley passengers home.   Starting at 9.00am the bus timing will leave passengers at Tescos for around an hour and a quarter, hopefully enough time for shopping and perhaps a coffee.

Please note this new route is a trial run at the moment and will run for several weeks to test out the route and the popularity of the service.

Timetables are available from the Shuttle itself or from the Town Council Offices in Windhill.
