Bishops Stortford adopts Town Plan
Bishop’s Stortford Town Council has officially adopted a far-reaching Town Plan. This plan builds on the responses by over 4000 residents to a questionnaire issued to residents late in 2008, and is being launched in tandem with the 2020 vision created by the District Council. The Plan sets out specific actions which the Council will take to enhance the town focussing on the six themes of
Riverside amenities
Town centre appearance and historic buildings
Town centre and market vibrancy
Litter
Public and sustainable transport
Local Employment
Many of these actions can only be achieved with the cooperation of multiple organisations and to drive them forward the Town Council will establish project groups with other authorities and stakeholders including the District, County, Police, Businesses, the Environment Agency and Voluntary groups.
A four page summary of the plan will be delivered to every household in Bishop's Stortford and can be downloaded here
The full plan will be available shortly on this site, in the public library and at the offices of the Town Council.
