Bandstand

The Bandstand on Sworders Field is available free of charge for amateur and charitible groups.  It can be used informally for impromptu performances at any time (unless there is a booking), however if you plan to advertise your event and in all cases for commercial performances you will need to book in advance. Electricity is now available via two x 16 amp commando sockets. A £6.00 charge will be levied for this facility. 

Bishops Park Community Centre

Bishop's Park Community Centre offers two rooms which can be joined together for larger functions. There is a bar area in both rooms, and a modern kitchen. Suitable for disabled and elderly. 

Council Chamber (Conference Suite)

The Council Chamber is the venue in the centre of town, for your board meeting or corporate training event. It can accommodate up to 25 people in the Chamber, 8 people in the adjacent Meeting Room.

Havers Community Centre

Havers Community Centre offers two rooms which can also be joined into one large room. There is also a committee room for quiet meetings, yoga or meditation. Suitable for the elderly and disabled. Rates from £5 per hour.

Market Square

Market Square is 12m (width) x 10m (depth) and is on a slight slope.

The Market Square is only available from Mondays to Wednesdays for £20 per hour per pitch (3mx3m). Registered Charities are able have one pitch free however soliciting for the completion of subscription charity collections is prohibited.

Markwell Pavilion and Elsie Barrett Clubroom

The Markwell Pavilion is situated in the centre of the town of Bishop's Stortford in the pretty Castle Gardens and the building was originally built for the Elsie Barrett Club for the Blind.  It is suitable for the elderly and disabled.

Monastery Garden

An enclosed private garden in the Town Centre suitable for weddings, garden parties, outdoor theatre and similar events.

St Michaels Mead Community Centre

The Community Centre at St Michaels Mead is a purpose built hall, incorporating a stage, suitable for theatre productions and concerts.

Sworders Field

A large, open field immediately adjacent to the Town Centre suitable for major public events (concerts, festivals, carnival, fairs etc) or smaller activities.
