Christmas will truly come to Bishop’s Stortford on Saturday 2 December with a number of exciting events including Bishop’s Stortford Town Council’s Christmas Fayre, Coopers Winter Wonderland and the Grove Cottage Santa Dash and Reindeer Run.

Bishop’s Stortford Town Council’s Christmas Fayre will commence at 09:30 and span North Street, Potter Street, Market Square and South Street, all of which will close for the event and will be filled with Christmas delights. Walking into town is recommended as road closures will operate from 06:00 in North Street, Potter Street, South Street and High Street east of Basbow Lane.

Visitors can pick up lots of Christmas goodies, from gifts such as hampers and handmade jewellery to real Christmas trees and wreaths. Hungry shoppers can keep the cold at bay with many warming delights from our food court.

Children will have lots of fun at Santa’s Grotto, pat some reindeer straight from the North Pole, or ride a pony. Princesses will mingle with crowds, providing photo opportunities for young fans. Everyone will enjoy the fun fair rides and games on the train while stilt walkers, fire eaters and magicians will amaze.

Road Closure Remembrance Day Parade Sunday 12 November

Please be aware of this year’s Remembrance Day parade in Bishop's Stortford on Sunday 12th November 2017, which will affect roads in the central area of the town from 10:30 - 11:45am.

The parade will begin at the Link Road car park and parade along The Causeway. Following a period of silence and a short service the parade will again enter the Causeway and return to Link Road car park.

To enable those who wish to show their respects to parade or attend the service, as a matter of safety to all we are required to close a number of roads and car parks at their junctions with The Causeway or Link Road.

All residents are welcome to attend but police would ask that you consider your journey and parking and be in town prior to the road closures.

If you are using the town on Sunday as part of your journey please give consideration to the parade and show your respect by remaining calm and being patient if asked to wait a short time in one of the road closures.
