Youth Market on 21 June

On 21 June Students of Hertford Regional College and young entrepreneurs will become market traders at Bishop’s Stortford Youth Market.

Alongside the general Thursday market there will be a range of unique items made and designed on sale created by the students from creative design courses.  It will be a great opportunity to buy presents or brighten up your home with an original piece of art or design work.

Students have been busy working on new collections for the market and one stated ‘I am excited about the opportunity to sell my work at the Youth Market. This is an ideal opportunity for me to promote myself and to show case my work in a professional environment. I am looking forward to gaining hands on experience of working as a small business.’

The Mayor-elect Cllr Cutting said ‘the Youth Market is a great opportunity for us to support and encourage young inspiring artists, designers and entrepreneurs to kick start their careers.  It is great way for a younger audience to see what it is like to be a market trader. Pitches start at as little as £21.80 per trading day.’

Updates regarding the event can be found on or the Town Council’s website.

Don’t forget Bishop’s Stortford weekly Market, which is held every Thursday and Saturday in Potter Street, Market Square and South Street also hosts a variety of exciting regular events. Our Farmers and Craft Market continues on first Saturday of the month from 9.30am to 1.30pm in North Street. Our next event is on 7 July.
