themuseum: The Malt Industry in Hertfordshire
Until the 1980's the making of malt was the most important source of economic acyivity in Herts and was the reason for the navigation of the Lee and the Stort rivers and the railwway which followed their courses from the 1840's.
The towns of Ware, Hertford and Bishop's Stortford were dependent on this vital industry, now almost completly ceased. Join us for a fascinating talk in the malting industry in Hertfordshire. Talk by local historian, Helen Gibson.
