PROPOSED MAJOR HOUSING DEVELOPMENTS IN THE NORTH-WEST OF THE TOWN.

A meeting of Bishop’s Stortford Town Council’s Planning and Development Committee will take place on 10th September 2013 at 7.30pm, in the Auditorium, at Rhodes, South Street, Bishop’s Stortford, Herts, CM23 3JG.  Planning applications for the construction of up to 2650 houses in the north-west of the town will be considered.

Members of the public or organisational representatives are invited to speak, subject to the absolute discretion of the Chairman, providing an emailed or written request is received no later than Thursday, 5th September 2013 at 12 Noon.  Applications must state whether they are an individual or representing a named organisation and be accompanied by a summary in no more than three sentences of the principal subjects to be covered in the speech.  Applications to speak must be addressed to

Individuals will be permitted to speak for a maximum of three minutes and organisational representatives for a maximum of six minutes.

Time is limited and preference will be given to organisations/individuals in the order in which their application to speak is received subject to maintaining an appropriate balance and avoiding duplication.  If time is available applications received after the deadline or on the night will be considered.

The plans can be viewed at The Old Monastery, Windhill, Bishop’s Stortford, CM23 2ND, Monday to Friday from 9.00am to 4.00pm. The agenda for the meeting will be available for download on the Town Council website from 2pm on Wednesday 4 September 2013 and paper copies will be available on the night

Bishop’s Stortford Town Council is a statutory consultee on all planning applications affecting the Town, however the decision is ultimately made by East Herts District Council.  The District Council will take into account representations made by this Council, however you should ensure that a copy of your comments is also sent to direct to East Herts District Council.
