The Council manages over 480 allotment plots on 10 sites

The allotment rental year runs from January - December.
Plots of 2.5 rods (7m x 7m) and 5 square rods (10m x 12m) are available for rent.

Prices are as follows:

Fees for 2019 are per rod and as follows:

Residents - £5.80
Senior Citizens & Personal Independent Payment (PIP) Recipients - £2.90 (1st 10 rods only)
Non–Residents - £11.60 (including Senior Citizens)
New Tenant Administration Set Up Fee - £27.50
There is a Key Charge of £7.50 at some sites

Fees can be paid by cash, cheque (made payable to BSTC) or by internet and phone banking (details on request). We regret we are unable to accept debit / credit cards.

Please be aware that there is a waiting list at some sites but you can download the Application form for an Allotment and view the Tenancy Agreement which will be completed by the administrator on allocation of a plot. 

Plots are available NOW at many of the sites.

We have recently introduced the possibility to keep bees and hens subject to appropriate rules.

Allotment office hours are 8.00am - 12.00pm Tuesday ,Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but please leave a message on the voice mail at any time and your call will be returned as soon as possible.

The Best Kept Plot Competition 2019

Taking photos of the 2 best kept plots on each will be done by the site agents during June and July.
The best on site and the best kept plot overall will be chosen by the Mayor Norma Symonds.

Bishop's Stortford Garden and Allotment Association

Many of our allotment holders are members of the Bishop's Stortford Allotments And Gardens Assiociation (www.bsaga.btck.co.uk) which offers useful advice and fellowship.
They also have a Facebook page www.facebook.com/bishopsstortfordallotmentsandgardensasociation

Their Annual Flower and Vegetable show will take place on Saturday 31st August at Thorley Community Center. It will be open to the public from 02.00 pm to 04.00 pm.
Join them for tea and homemade cakes!!
