The Minibus Trust was initially set up to enable elderly and disabled people from Bishop's Stortford to reach local day centres where they can meet, have a midday meal and socialise for the day.
The introduction of a Community Bus in 2006 means that the Trust is now available for use by youth and community organisations within a 10 mile radius of Bishop’s Stortford.
The Trust now runs three minibuses with a capacity of up to 16 seats each. Two buses are used regularly during the week, and the third bus is available for one off hire.
The ethos of the Trust is biased towards the elderly or disabled, with tail-lifts fitted for wheelchair access to all of the buses, but the new bus is available for hire by everyone for local and more further afield trips.
Groups must provide their own driver who holds a full UK driving licence.
